Dennis Christoffersen

Dennis Christoffersen is Senior Tax Manager at HAY LAW and a specialist in Danish and international VAT. He works in particular with VAT cases, duties and excise law and disputes with the Danish Tax Agency and other tax authorities.

Dennis has 15 years of experience from the Danish Tax Agency, where he worked in depth with VAT law issues and the handling of VAT and tax cases. His many years with the tax authorities have given him detailed insight into how cases are investigated, assessed and processed by the authorities.

That experience is a significant advantage for HAY LAW’s clients. Dennis has a particular eye for which factual and legal circumstances the Danish Tax Agency typically emphasises, and which parts of a case may prove decisive for the authorities’ assessment.

After his time at the Danish Tax Agency, Dennis worked as a legal adviser at TIMEVAT and TMF Group, among others. There he advised Danish and international companies on EU VAT, UK VAT, international VAT compliance, import VAT, e-commerce, platform sales, cross-border transactions and international supply chain structures.

At HAY LAW, Dennis assists in particular companies in audit cases, subsequent assessments, reopening cases and other disputes with the tax authorities. He works thoroughly with the factual circumstances of the case, the documentation and the VAT law assessment, focusing on identifying the circumstances that may be decisive for the outcome.

The combination of his many years at the Danish Tax Agency and his subsequent advisory work for companies means that Dennis can assess a VAT or tax case from both sides of the table and contribute to a clear and targeted strategy in the dialogue with the tax authorities.
