A large part of the work in a tax case consists of reviewing documentation, drafting written submissions and corresponding with the authorities. This means we can handle the case closely together with the client, even though we do not have an office in Aarhus.
Why distance rarely matters in a tax case
A tax case is decided essentially in writing. Requests for material, comments on proposed assessments, appeals to the Danish Tax Appeals Agency and submissions to the National Tax Tribunal are all written documents. It is the quality of the written argument and the documentation behind it that moves a case forward.
What really matters is that the person handling the case knows the area well enough to see where it can be won.
How we work with clients outside the capital area
- Initial assessment remotely. You send us the decision or proposal, we review it and come back with an assessment. Free and non-binding.
- Digital meetings. Meetings are held over video or phone at a time that suits you, including outside normal office hours by agreement.
- Secure exchange of material. Vouchers, bank statements and accounting material are exchanged digitally.
- Ongoing updates. You receive a copy of everything we send in your case.
- In-person attendance where necessary. Where a lawyer needs to attend in person, at a liability meeting, a court hearing or a meeting at an appeal body, we attend. Travel time is agreed in advance so you know what it involves before we start.
